Chronologically Presented in Order
Psalms: The beginning.
God does not exist on a time-line. The reality of this notion is fully tempered by the pure and simple truth that God is not determined, depicted, nor designated by time. However, our humanity is governed by it, we govern others thru its course, and will even seek out its recognition, by our accomplishing goals in a sort of race against it. Now this raises the question, when did time begin? As saved people our answer is usually Genesis 1:1. For the unsaved it may be a big bang theory or something else very dramatic and movie-like. However, the proof is found in Psalms, and we’ll discover that soon enough.
So what was before Genesis 1:1? Was there anything? Where did God come from? So many want to place God in box called time, but in God there is no time. God exists in and out of it, and more to the point He is from everlasting to everlasting. How can we argue with what God says about Himself as recorded in Scripture? Being FROM everlasting TO everlasting speaks of His unlimited reality, and we all know, time does not have those particular traits.
You see humanity in our finite being can in no way comprehend the ways of God WHO IS INFINITE! In fact, in some areas and places in the Bible is silent concerning His before Genesis 1:1 proclamation of our existence. Moreover, we will have to wait until the eternity future to get our answers regarding eternity past. Many biblical scholars and theologians consider that satan was cast out of heaven causing a perfect earth to embrace chaos and void as Genesis 1:2 states, causing havoc on what some believe is some kind of “pre-Adamic creation? Many consider that God performed and then “renovating” the earth thereby preparing the earth for man (Adam as we know him) what is possibly some 6,000 years ago approximately.
Now these are just theories of course, but they do have their validation and certainly their generous consideration in thoughtful insight. Some even believe satan did not come to earth until Genesis 3 when sin entered into the world thru disobedience? However, no matter your belief, ideology, theory, predetermination, doctrine, or even careful thoughtful consideration, none of it will ever change God, or who He is. When it comes to He eternal past, or His eternal future, He is who He is, and that we discover He is from everlasting to everlasting (Ps 90:1-2).
Nevertheless, I would like to give you just a bit of insight that I have discovered with God about Him…I pray that you enjoy this moment.
Placing the beginning in chronological order, utilizing Scriptural content.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God”
“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”
“How art thou fallen O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou was created, til iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore, I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.”
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep”
“I beheld the earth, and lo, it was without form and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo. there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by His fierce anger.”
“For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I AM THE LORD; and there is none else”
“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.”
